Reading/Sight Words:
This week we will be beginning our literacy centers. I hope to begin reading groups by the middle of the week, so be looking for books in your child's homework folder. Please initial on the reading log after they read :)
Sight Words: in, is, you, am, at, the, and, a, to, me
I will be giving a test over these words on Friday.
(Please disregard the sight words on the newsletter. We decided there were too many)
Math:
Monday- Finding one more and one less
Tuesday- Counting on the # line and Comparing #'s
Wednesday- Adding/ Subtracting on the # line
Thursday- Find missing #'s on a hundreds chart and investigating equal chance events (dice roll game)
Friday- Weekly Test (Using the # line, simple story problems)
*No math homework this week!

Spelling/Phonics:
This week we will be reviewing our letter names and sounds. We will also be working on /at/ and /an/ word families. Examples: cat, bat, rat, can, man, tan. We will have a practice spelling test on Friday over these words,but it will not be for a grade.
Math:
Monday- Introduce routines and counting by tens and ones.
Tuesday- Number line and play "Monster Squeeze"
Wednesday- Introduce math tools and play penny dice game
Thursday-Practice writing numbers
Friday- Play # bingo and Solve number stories
*No math homework this week :)
Reading/Sight Words:
This week we will be reviewing concepts about print. (where to start reading, where to go after each line, parts of a book, difference between words and letters). Try to read to your child at least once this week and ask them some of these questions.
