Announcements:

• P.E. day is on Wednesday. Please make sure your child wears tennis shoes on that day.

Reading:

This week I will be starting with reading groups, so make sure to check your child's folder each night for reading homework. I write the book on their reading log, so you know when they have a book for homework. They may not have reading homework every night.

• This week we our continuing our unit on Alphabet books and the children that read them.

Monday- Lesson 1.4- Using adding to and putting together to make a model.

Tuesday- Lesson 1.4 (cont.)- Use addition within 20

Wednesday- Lesson 1.5- Use the additive identity property (ex. 5+0=5, 6+0=6)

Thursday- Lesson 1.6- Explore the commutative property (ex. 5+2=7, 2+5=7)

Friday- Lesson 1.6 (cont.)

Spelling:

We will be having a practice spelling test on Friday over short vowel words. (cat, rug, hop) We will begin our regular spelling lists next week.
