Announcements:
- I am so excited to have your child in my class this year!
- This week we will be reviewing the alphabet. Please return alphabet homework on Friday :)
- If you haven't sent your $5.00 for a t-shirt, please do so as soon as possible.
- Our P.E. day is Wednesday, so make sure your child wears tennis shoes.
- Please be sure to initial your child's behavior calendar each night.
- If there are any changes in the way your child gets home, please send me a note or call the office.
This week we will be reviewing our letter names and sounds. We will also be working on /at/ and /an/ word families. Examples: cat, bat, rat, can, man, tan. We will have a practice spelling test on Friday over these words,but it will not be for a grade.
Math:
Monday- Introduce routines and counting by tens and ones.
Tuesday- Number line and play "Monster Squeeze"
Wednesday- Introduce math tools and play penny dice game
Thursday-Practice writing numbers
Friday- Play # bingo and Solve number stories
*No math homework this week :)
Reading/Sight Words:
This week we will be reviewing concepts about print. (where to start reading, where to go after each line, parts of a book, difference between words and letters). Try to read to your child at least once this week and ask them some of these questions.
